Feed the Homeless, Men's Emergency Shelter

The men of Delta Omicron have teamed up with Emmanuel Memorial Progressive Neo-Pentocostal Church, a local church, to help the community in Columbus, Ohio. We now assist EMPNPC in feeding a local shelter once a month to help relieve some pain that effects our community. D.O. takes its personal members and people who want to give back to the community with them in their efforts to assist the church and effect the community. This is only the beginning of SOCIAL ACTION projects to come from the Delta Omicron Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. of The Ohio State University.

The Bryden House

The Bryden House is composed of two institutions aimed at bettering the surrounding community. The first is known as “Season of Change” which helps families and children (6 weeks- 4 years) to have a good environment to grow and excel in. “Season of Change” also consist of the LATCHKEY program, which helps with after school programming and supplying children, of age, with school supplies, tutoring, and more. “Season of Change” provides adult care to citizens 62 years of age and beyond geared towards healthy, social well-being, and a safe environment. The second is “The Bryden House Apartments”, a senior housing establishment dedicated to creating a beneficiary retirement living environment for the elderly.

Delta Omicron has taken on the challenge to donate time and materials to the The Bryden House to lift some of the burden that weighs on the tenants of the facility and immediate community. We send donations of all sorts (clothing, toys, baby items, canned goods, etc.) once or twice a month and travel to the facilities once a month to sit and socialize with the occupants. D.O. is also assisted by the Xi Gamma Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc in our efforts to uplift the Bryden community.
